Dr Packer is a true heavyweight in the realm of disco re-edits, earning him the coveted title of the “king of disco re-edits.” His name is a regular fixture at the top of the Traxsource Soul, Funk & Disco chart, solidifying his prominent status in the music scene as well as securing Traxsource Artist of the year 2017, 2018 & 2021.

With a DJ career spanning over 30-years, numerous DJ awards, 7 international DJ tours, 24 years of studio experience, Dr Packer is a seasoned professional in the music industry.

The birth of Dr Packer came in 2013 when Greg, with his extensive background, started experimenting with old soul, funk, and disco records in the studio. He applied techniques as if he were creating original tracks and the results were nothing short of astounding. His re-edits quickly gained popularity, topping the Juno Sales charts within months and securing deals with labels such as Glitterbox Defected, Z Records, Nervous Records, Salsoul and West End. His work also garnered the attention of renowned artists like Dave Lee, John Morales, Greg Wilson, Dimitri From Paris and Late Nite Tuff Guy.

Simon Dunmore from Defected signed Greg in 2015 to produce the Glitterbox labels first release ‘Sure Thing – Holding You Tight ‘Dr Packer Remixes’ and then went on to produce two full length albums ‘Different Strokes’ series Vol 1 & 2′.

In 2017, Greg Wilson handpicked six of Dr Packer’s edits for inclusion in his choice reworks, only further cementing his status in the music scene.

His reworks and edits also caught the attention of Bootsy Collins and Dave Lee resulting in official remixes. Dave also signed Dr Packer to his label Z Recordings letting him loose on his back catalogue material such as his Destination Boogie & Superfunkanova albums.
